2. Data categories
- Food log entries (content, timestamps)
- Symptom and wellbeing entries (content, intensity, timestamps)
- App settings (for example reminders, region, filters)
3. Storage
Data is stored locally on your device by default. If sync is enabled, data may also be stored in your private iCloud account area.
4. Recipients / service providers
Where technically required, Apple services are used (for example iCloud/CloudKit). Data is only shared beyond that where legally required.
5. Legal basis
Processing is based on contract performance for app functionality and, where applicable, consent for optional features.
6. Retention
Data remains available until you delete it in the app or remove the app.
7. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, rectification, deletion, restriction, and portability.
8. Suggestion personalization
Starting in version 1.3.0, GutCue adapts the suggestions shown on the Log screen to match the times at which you usually log entries. The app reads the timestamps of your entries from the last 28 days to determine the typical hours of your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Suggestion windows shift by at most one hour from the regional defaults.
- All computation happens locally on your device.
- No new data is stored — the app only uses timestamps that already exist because of your logging behavior.
- No correlations between foods and symptoms are computed or inferred.
- This feature cannot be toggled off separately because it does not collect additional data and does not share data.
